Head of Spanish police exploring use of Google Glass for officers
The head of Spain's police force wants to outfit his officers with Google Glass. Ignacio Cosido sees the device as a 'key part' of 'Policía 3.0,' which will let officers access databases, exchange information and view surveillance footage while in the field.

Yes, is the resounding answer from the national force's director, who says cops could soon be wearing Google Glass to track down and detain suspects while out on patrol.

Ignacio Cosido has revealed he may give each and every one of his National Police officers the futurist gadget in a bid to solve and stop crime.
He stated in a press release Monday that he was "seriously looking" at the "research and operational advantages" that the device could bring.

It could, he said, help with facial recognition, data verification and exchanging information with other patrols.
Officers would be able to access police databases, records and other documentary evidence while out and about.

And they may also be able to tap into surveillance camera footage, when at the scene of the crime to ascertain what had happened.
